12-year
old Johnathan Dillon lives in Wirtz, VA
and started learning to play musical instruments at the age of the age of 7. He
plays mandolin, fiddle, guitar, bass, and banjo.
Johnathan front his own
band which he named 'Phantom Grass' and has recorded two cd's. He has also played
with Mark Templeton & Pocket Change.
The past couple of years, Johnathan
has performed on stage with the Bluegrass Brothers, Smith Mountain Grass, Carolina
Road, Nothin' Fancy, In The Tradition, Deer Creek Boys, and Plain & Simple.
Johnathan sings lead and tenor vocals and he a loves to jam with others whenever
he gets the chance.
Johnathan
just recently won 1st prize in the Youth Banjo category at the 2006 Old Time Fiddler's
Convention in Galax, Va.
